Reported by Miras-e-Arya, quoted by Public Relations office of Isfahan Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Department, Today, December 7, 98, Fereydoun Allahyari, Director General of the Office, said at a meeting of the Committee for the Development of Crafts and Traditional Arts in Isfahan: “we are following the establishment of an Independent Secretariat for the Fight against Trafficking Handicrafts as well as the fight against poor quality of handicrafts in the province in order to increase the quality of production and supply of handicrafts in Isfahan, as one of the main centers of production and supply of handicrafts in the country.”
He also added: "We are looking forward to more and more oversee of the supply of raw materials, production and quality of handicrafts in Isfahan, so there should be more convergence between the government and handicraft activists."
Establishment of Committee on Fight against Trafficking Handicrafts in Isfahan
Jafar Jafar Salehi, deputy of department of handicrafts at the province's Office of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, also spoke on how to combat the trafficking of low-quality goods and handicrafts: “"Due to the need to monitor more closely the production process in the handicrafts industry in order to provide better services to customers and tourists, the Secretariat for the Fight against Trafficking was established with the presence of Deputy of Handicrafts, General Administration Protection Unit, Crafts Union, and Provincial Guilds Inspection Office.”
He emphasized: “One of the tasks of this committee is to discover goods, file and collect poor-quality goods in the field of handicraft supply in Isfahan.”
Jafar Salehi pointed to other duties of the committee, saying: "Other duties of this committee are to cooperate and supervise the preparation of raw materials in the field of all precious metals for artists and craftsmen."
Today, Isfahan Province Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Development Committee meeting was held by the attendance of Fereydoon Allah Yari, Director General of the Office, Jafar Jafar Salehi, Deputy of Handicrafts Office, Abdolreza Arab Bafrani, province's Cultural Heritage Protection Unit, Javad Mohammadi, Head of the Provincial Guilds Inspection Office, and some senior experts in handicrafts, handicraft activists and Isfahan Handicrafts Union.
